STUDENTS-RETIREES INTERGENERATIONAL LEARNING CIRCLES

Today, Europe is facing a demographic change leading to a radical change in the structure of society: more “older” workers, more elderly people, and more very elderly.

AGING” is a reality within Europe but “AGING WELL” is the new challenge for the European countries.

Aging in Europe imposes the provision of more attractive LLL offers for seniors, which correspond to their learning needs for personal development and self-determination.

Today seniors are healthy and capable to work after retirement but the low level of some Lisbon key competences makes them unable to meet the demands of the knowledge-based society and stay active and socially included longer in life.

There is also a lack of understanding between seniors and young in relation to their values and how they can be mutually respected and used for the benefit of both groups, and the community as a whole.

Actually, intergenerational learning seems to be underestimated.

Тo bring seniors and young together in intergenerational learning circles so that both get aware of their cultures, achieve mutual understanding and respect and support each other for mutual benefit

THIS IS OUR CHALLENGE!
